Fushimi Inari Taisha Walking Tour
Walk the hidden paths of Fushimi Inari and uncover what most never see
Service Description
Discover Fushimi Inari Taisha in a special way, away from the well-known paths. Instead of following the heavily frequented main route, we take a lesser-known path that leads us through a quiet bamboo forest and past numerous small, hidden shrines up to the summit of Mount Inari. Along the way, you will experience the spiritual significance of this unique Shinto shrine, dedicated to the deity Inari, and learn more about the symbolism of the famous torii gates that line the path. Thanks to the alternative route, you can enjoy the special atmosphere of this place in a much quieter environment – photo opportunities with the iconic torii gates without large tourist crowds are guaranteed. This tour is ideal for guests who want to experience Fushimi Inari beyond the well-known postcard motifs and dive deeper into Kyoto’s spiritual landscape. The ascent to the summit of Mount Inari takes approx. 1 hour. In the last 15 minutes, the path becomes steeper. A good basic level of fitness, sturdy footwear, and sure footing are recommended. The route is well developed and mostly runs along shaded forest paths.
